Knowledge That Protects Your Career: NADC Releases a New Educational Video
The National Anti-Doping Center (NADC) continues implementing the UNESCO project “Clean Sport Ambassadors: Together Against Doping” and is pleased to present a new educational video dedicated to anti-doping rules and athletes’ responsibilities.
The video features Oleksii Sereda, Ukrainian diver, Olympic medalist, and medalist at the World and European Championships.
In the video, Oleksii emphasizes that anti-doping is about much more than prohibited substances. It is a comprehensive set of rules that every athlete must understand and follow to compete fairly and protect their sporting career.
The video highlights several key anti-doping rules that every athlete should know:
- the presence of a prohibited substance in an athlete’s sample constitutes an anti-doping rule violation, regardless of how it entered the body;
- the use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or method is also an anti-doping rule violation;
- refusing, evading, or failing to submit to doping control may result in serious consequences;
- international- and national-level athletes must keep their whereabouts information up to date to remain available for testing;
- possessing or trafficking prohibited substances or methods is an anti-doping rule violation;
- associating with individuals serving a period of ineligibility for anti-doping rule violations may also constitute a violation.
The aim of the video is to increase athletes’ awareness of anti-doping rules and to remind them that understanding these rules is an essential part of professional sport. A responsible approach to anti-doping helps protect an athlete’s reputation, career, and the integrity of competition.
