Anti-Doping Education
According to the World Anti-Doping Code (Art. 18, Art. 20, Art. 21), educational activities are the main and mandatory activity of every anti-doping organization. The development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of educational activities is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the International Standard on Education. We are convinced that an athlete's first introduction to anti-doping should be through anti-doping educational activities, not through doping control.
The main goal of the educational activity of NADC is to stimulate and develop personal values and principles in athletes and sportsmen's support staff (SPS), which will contribute to making decisions not in favor of doping, preventing the use of doping in sports, raising awareness and drawing attention to the field of anti-doping.
Implementation of this strategy will reduce the risk of doping in sports at all levels. In accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standard for Education, athletes and DPS should be informed and have knowledge of the following topics:
- Principles and values related to clean sport;
- Rights and obligations of athletes, sports teams and other groups in accordance with the Code;
- The principle of strict liability;
- Consequences of doping, such as physical and mental health, social and economic consequences and sanctions;
- Violation of anti-doping rules;
- Substances and methods prohibited in sports;
- The danger of using food additives;
- Use of drugs and authorizations for therapeutic use;
- Doping control procedures, including urine and blood sampling, athlete's biological passport;
- Inclusion in testing pools, location information, ADAMS;
- How to report suspicions or real facts about violations of anti-doping rules.
Such information must be reliable, up-to-date and publicly available to all interested parties.
