On 2 September, the inaugural meeting of the Working Group on the Modernization of the Postgraduate Education and Professional Development System for Coaches and Specialists in Physical Culture and Sport was held.

The meeting was attended by Valerii Zlomyhnoga, Head of the National Anti-Doping Center (NADC), who is a member of the Working Group.

The meeting focused on defining strategic directions for reforming the professional development and continuing professional development system for coaching and teaching staff and specialists in the field of physical culture and sport.

During the meeting, participants presented the Working Group’s objectives, tasks and format of work, reviewed the current state of the postgraduate education and professional development system, and discussed the conceptual foundations for transitioning to a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system.

Particular attention was paid to the potential introduction of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and aligning the professional development of specialists with new professional standards.

For NADC, participation in the Working Group provides an important opportunity to contribute to the integration of anti-doping education into the professional development system for coaches and other specialists in the sports sector.
