Ukraine and Lithuania Join Forces to Improve Therapeutic Use Exemption
On November 21, the National Anti-Doping Center held a joint workshop with the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency to exchange experience in therapeutic use.
As part of this educational and informational event, key aspects of Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) were discussed, including:
- policies for submitting TUE applications for athletes at different levels;
- specifics of storing and sharing documents containing health information;
- requirements for medical documentation attached to applications, depending on the type of condition.
"Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency has significant expertise in TUE operations, and we are grateful for the opportunity to exchange best practices and ideas. Such workshops are an integral part of international cooperation in the fight against doping," emphasized Rūta Baniytė, Director of the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency.
The workshop also addressed the need to raise awareness of this procedure not only among athletes and sports doctors but also among general practitioners.
"We greatly value the willingness of our Lithuanian colleagues to share their knowledge and support us in improving therapeutic use procedures. Such experience exchange strengthens our institutional capacity and contributes to the professional development of our team. We look forward to continuing this cooperation," noted Volodymyr Sekretnyi, Chair of the TUE Committee of the National Anti-Doping Center.
During the event, it was agreed to conduct further joint thematic training sessions and workshops to enhance collaboration between the anti-doping organizations of both countries.
Systematic work, fair competition!
