Changes in the Composition of the NADC Athletes’ Council and the Anti-Doping Ombudsman Institution
The National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine announces updates to athlete representation within the activities of the NADC.
In order to strengthen the protection of athletes’ rights and enhance effective dialogue with the sports community, Oleksandr Abramenko has joined the NADC Athletes’ Council, replacing Anna Ryzhykova, and has also been appointed Anti-Doping Ombudsman.
Oleksandr Abramenko is a renowned Ukrainian athlete, Olympic champion in freestyle skiing (aerials), medalist of World and European Championships, and a long-standing representative of Ukraine on the international sports stage. His sporting career exemplifies high professionalism, commitment to the principles of fair competition, and respect for the core values of sport.
The NADC Athletes’ Council is an important advisory body that ensures athletes’ perspectives are taken into account in the development and implementation of anti-doping policy. The involvement of an experienced athlete in its work will contribute to increased trust, transparency, and mutual understanding between athletes and anti-doping institutions.
The institution of the Anti-Doping Ombudsman plays a key role in the system for protecting athletes’ rights by ensuring independent review of appeals, supporting compliance with established procedures, and strengthening the principles of integrity in sport.
The National Anti-Doping Center expresses its sincere gratitude to Anna Ryzhykova for her contribution to the development of clean sport initiatives and for her productive cooperation with the NADC.
The NADC will continue to work on the development of an inclusive and transparent system, with the athlete and their right to fair and safe sport at its core.
Clean sport begins with trust and responsibility.
