On June 12, the high-level conference “Uniting European NADOs to Strengthen National Systems: The Role of European NADOs in the Global Anti-Doping Ecosystem” is taking place in Bergen, Norway.

The event is organized by the Council of Europe and the Anti-Doping Norway, and gathers key figures such as WADA President Witold Bańka, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Bjørn Berge, heads of 48 national anti-doping organizations, and senior officials from WADA and the Council of Europe.

“Ukraine and the Ukrainian NADC are an integral part of the global anti-doping system. We have established strong cooperation with the sports community and are implementing modern approaches to doping prevention and control. That’s exactly what we’ll be discussing today with our international partners,”
said Sergii Popyk, Director of the NADC, who is attending the conference.

The main focus of the discussions includes practical measures to improve anti-doping work at both the national and international levels, strengthening the role and influence of national anti-doping organizations, and enhancing cooperation between key actors—especially international sports federations, the International Testing Agency (ITA), and NADOs.

As a result of the conference, it is expected that NADOs will review certain internal procedures and reinforce their anti-doping controls and accountability for anti-doping rule violations.
