The National Anti-Doping Center and the Ukrainian Football Association Join Efforts to Fight Doping in Football
On June 6, the National Anti-Doping Center, and the Ukrainian Football Association signed an agreement on cooperation in the anti-doping field.
This is a landmark document and an extremely important agreement that will fundamentally change approaches to the fight against doping in football. This cooperation and partnership are aimed at launching and implementing joint measures designed to both ensure the integrity of football competitions at various levels and raise the level of anti-doping culture among players, coaches, doctors and team administrators.
"This Agreement is an important step for the NADC and for national football. It will allow us to fight doping more effectively, ensure fair play and protect the health of our athletes. The UAF's cooperation with the NADC involves conducting training and educational activities, as well as anti-doping information campaigns that will popularize fair football competition environment without doping and help raise awareness of anti-doping rules and procedures," said NADC Director Serhiy Popyk.
The document provides for the development and implementation of anti-doping programs, large-scale educational activities, the creation of confidential channels for reporting doping cases, thorough doping control during competitions and training camps, as well as the prompt exchange of relevant data between the NADC and the UAF.
"The conclusion of the Agreement on cooperation in the anti-doping field between the NADC and the UAF on the eve of key international tournaments for Ukrainian football, such as the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games in Paris, is obviously symbolic. It demonstrates the determination and commitment of the Ukrainian Football Association and its leadership to compete and win in a fair competition. We believe in Ukrainian football, support the national and Olympic teams, and wish them only victories in the upcoming matches and tournaments," added S. Popyk.
