Doping Control Without Myths: NADC Presents a New Educational Video
The National Anti-Doping Center continues the implementation of the UNESCO project “Clean Sport Ambassadors: Together Against Doping” and presents its second educational video dedicated to the doping control process.
The main participants of the new video are Yurii Cheban, Chair of the NADC Athlete Council and two-time Olympic canoe sprint champion, and Iryna Fedoriv, two-time world champion in canoe sprint.
Through an engaging conversation, they discuss one of the most important aspects of the anti-doping system — doping control. Viewers will learn why testing can take place at any time, how the sample collection procedure is conducted, what rights athletes have, and why it is important to pay close attention to documentation.
The video also highlights key rules that every athlete should know:
• Doping control may take place both in-competition and out-of-competition;
• Every stage of the procedure is documented in accordance with international standards;
• Athletes personally select and inspect the sample collection equipment;
• All medications and dietary supplements must be declared during testing.
The aim of the video is to increase awareness among athletes and the wider sports community about anti-doping procedures and to demonstrate that doping control is not a punishment, but an essential tool for protecting clean sport.
