On April 26-27, at the Olympic Training and Sports Center "Koncha-Zaspa," the National Anti-Doping Center conducted an educational event for doping control officers accredited by NADC.

"We consider doping control officers as key players in the national anti-doping system. A doping control officer accredited by NADC should be professional, well-prepared, and well-versed in the rules and procedures of the field. That's why we pay significant attention to working with doping control officers. Today's event is specialized training on practical issues related to the organization and sample collection, it's a kind of course aimed at enhancing their qualifications. If we call on athletes to compete fairly, then we call on doping control officers to work responsibly," emphasized NADC Director Sergii Popyk.

The educational course program included an overview of key and most complex doping control procedures, including athlete notification and identification; partial sample collection; insufficient specific gravity; actions during air alerts/curfews, and so on. Equally important topics included discussions on conducting individual tests and issues related to doping control documentation.

In the process of solving practical tasks, participants discussed the most challenging real and hypothetical situations in urine and blood sample collection. Participants worked in groups, took part in simulating possible situations, and had the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues and get answers to questions that arose during the learning process.

NADC's work in training doping control officers will continue in the future.
