Attention to Athletes, Coaches, and Sports Medical Professionals: The 2025 Prohibited List Comes into Effect on January 1
The National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine reminds athletes, coaches, and all stakeholders that the 2025 Prohibited List and 2025 Monitoring Program will come into force on January 1, 2025.
This document was approved by the Executive Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on September 12, 2024.
Key changes in 2025 include:
- New examples added to specific substance classes for easier identification:
- S0: Non-approved substances
- S4: Hormone and metabolic modulators
- S5: Diuretics and masking agents
- S6: Stimulants
- Adjusted dosing intervals for formoterol, with the maximum daily dose remaining unchanged.
- Blood donation and its components (including apheresis) are no longer prohibited if conducted in accredited collection centers.
- Hydraphenil is classified as a non-specific stimulant.
- Guanfacine is clarified as a permitted substance.
- Beta-blockers are no longer prohibited in any skiing or snowboarding disciplines.
Therapeutic Use Program:
Athletes with medical conditions requiring the use of prohibited substances or methods may apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). This program ensures a balance between protecting athletes' health and adhering to the principles of clean sport.
Athlete Responsibility:
The Prohibited List is updated annually based on the latest scientific data and consultations with stakeholders. It is essential to remember that athletes are responsible for the substances they consume.
