NADC launches the development of the National Clean Sport Strategy
On November 14, the first session dedicated to drafting the National Clean Sport Strategy through 2030 took place. During the strategic session, participants jointly identified and formulated the purpose of the document — an ambitious vision aimed at ensuring integrity, sustainability, and a systematic approach to anti-doping efforts in Ukrainian sport for the next decade.
The discussion brought together representatives of key government institutions, law enforcement agencies, sports federations, academic institutions, educational establishments, and civil society organizations — a broad cross-sectoral team working to create a new standard for Ukrainian sport.
“We are laying the foundation of a system built on honesty, trust, and long-term strength for Ukrainian sport. This Strategy is not just a document — it is a tool for change, and we are creating it together,” emphasized NADC Director Sergii Popyk.
Mariia Plaksenko, Senior GESI Advisor for the RFA project and session moderator, highlighted the importance of inclusiveness and multi-sector cooperation: “Today we saw how many institutions are ready to work together. Such coordination is exactly what ensures that the Strategy will not be a formality, but a real instrument of change for the sports community.”
The development of the Strategy is supported by Global Affairs Canada and Alinea International within the Recovery for All (RFA) project, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. The NADC serves as a strategic partner in the process and a driving force behind building a culture of clean sport.
Ahead lies the detailed planning phase — defining actions, shaping the roadmap, and moving on to the next stages of collaboration.
Clean sport is more than a principle. It is a path. And we are already on it.
