Treatment Without Risks: NADC Organized Training for Sports Doctors
On May 20, the National Anti-Doping Center conducted an anti-doping training session for sports doctors dedicated to therapeutic use, responsible treatment of athletes, and practical aspects of compliance with anti-doping rules.
The training was conducted by NADC specialist Kateryna Koval and Head of the Therapeutic Use Committee Volodymyr Sekretnyi.
During the event, participants discussed key topics that are extremely important in the daily work of sports doctors, including:
— treatment without violating anti-doping rules;
— common myths in the field of anti-doping;
— Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs);
— the procedure for submitting a TUE application;
— risks associated with dietary supplements;
— practical real-life cases related to TUE and retroactive TUE applications.
Special attention was paid to practical examples and the analysis of situations doctors may face in their professional activities. This format allowed participants not only to deepen their knowledge, but also to gain practical tools for working in the field of clean sport.
Kateryna Koval noted:
“Anti-doping education for medical personnel is not only about rules, but also about athlete safety and the professional responsibility of doctors.”
In turn, Volodymyr Sekretnyi emphasized:
“A properly completed Therapeutic Use Exemption protects both the athlete and the doctor. That is why practical knowledge and understanding of procedures are critically important in modern sport.”
The NADC continues to implement educational initiatives aimed at strengthening the culture of clean and safe sport in Ukraine.
Knowledge protects. Clean sport unites.
