World Anti-Doping Conference 2025 Kicks Off
On 1 December, the World Anti-Doping Conference 2025 officially commenced in Busan, South Korea.
The event, organized by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Korea Anti-Doping Agency, brings together WADA President Witold Bańka, IOC President Kirsty Coventry, leaders of international sports federations, national and regional anti-doping organizations, as well as senior representatives of ministries and agencies from more than 95 countries involved in sports governance and anti-doping policy. Scientists and experts engaged in anti-doping activities are also taking part.
The conference focuses on key issues shaping the future of the global anti-doping system: updating and harmonizing international and national anti-doping legislation, protecting athletes' rights, strengthening the work of anti-doping organizations, and addressing cybersecurity and personal data protection.
“A packed program, important meetings and negotiations, sharing experiences and best practices, participation in discussions and thematic sessions — this is exactly what awaits the Ukrainian delegation during the World Anti-Doping Conference. Ukraine has solid national expertise, demonstrates clear and visible progress in anti-doping efforts, and has accumulated valuable experience in promoting clean sport — so we are fully prepared to work with our international partners,” noted Chief Executive Officer of the National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine, Sergii Popyk, who is attending the conference.
On the first day, a meeting of the Executive Committee — WADA’s key governing body responsible for shaping and coordinating global anti-doping policy — took place.
Ahead in Busan are numerous sessions and discussions that will shape the anti-doping agenda at both the global and national levels.
Working together — winning together!
