Anna Ryzhykova Is Appointed as the Anti-Doping Ombudsman
On July 5, a meeting of the National Anti-Doping Center Athletes' Council took place, following which Anna RYZHYKOVA, a prominent Ukrainian track and field athlete, Ukrainian champion, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, and member of the NADC Athletes' Council, was appointed as the Anti-Doping Ombuds.
The position of the Anti-Doping Ombuds is introduced at NADC to protect the rights of athletes, athlete representatives, and support personnel, ensuring fairness and transparency in resolving potential issues related to anti-doping control and anti-doping rule violations.
In accordance with international practice and the Regulation on the Anti-Doping Ombudsman, the Ombuds operates to uphold the principles of fairness, prevent conflicts and disputes through consultation and mediation, and enhance trust in the anti-doping system among athletes and the public.
The Ombudsman is an independent, neutral, and objective official appointed to assist athletes, athlete representatives, and support personnel in matters related to anti-doping activities.
The Ombudsman carries out his\her activities in accordance with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code, WADA International Standards, and NADC Anti-Doping Rules.
