Fighting doping in sport remains a priority for the Council of Europe and its member states
The meeting focused on the compliance of the Council of Europe member states with the requirements of the Anti-Doping Convention.
They also discussed the measures necessary to prepare member states for the implementation of the updated anti-doping legislation prepared by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
“The Ukrainian side must be fully prepared for both the new regulatory and legislative changes initiated by WADA and the challenges in practical anti-doping work that we face almost every day. That is why Ukrainian experts should participate in all international events related to the preparation and discussion of new editions of the World Anti-Doping Code and the main International Anti-Doping Standards. Why? Because it is in this way that we can both influence their content, in particular, taking into account national specifics, and be immediately ready for their effective implementation, in particular by introducing, if necessary, appropriate changes to the legislation and documents of the NADC management system,” said NADC Director Serhii Popyk following the meeting.
The Compliance Advisory Group approved the schedule of audits in the signatory countries of the Anti-Doping Convention, which provides for an on-site audit of the Monitoring Group in Ukraine in 2026.
“We consider the upcoming audit as a convenient opportunity to demonstrate to international partners and the Ukrainian sports community the progress made by our country and the NADC in organizing and conducting anti-doping work, as well as in implementing the anti-doping program of the Center,” said S. Popyk.
We work systematically, we win confidently!
