International cooperation for clean sport: NADC takes part in Council of Europe conference
On May 28, an international conference titled “Limiting the availability of doping substances in Europe: a shared responsibility” was held, organized by the Council of Europe with the support of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The event was attended by the Head of the National Anti-Doping Center, Valerii Zlomynoha.
The conference brought together representatives of anti-doping organizations, government institutions, law enforcement agencies, the sports sector, healthcare, and the pharmaceutical industry from various European countries.
Participants discussed the growing issue of accessibility to doping substances, particularly in recreational sports, as well as the health risks associated with their illegal production and distribution.
Special attention was given to cross-sector cooperation, strengthening international collaboration, and implementing effective mechanisms to combat the spread of doping. Examples of successful cooperation between anti-doping organizations, law enforcement bodies, and the medical sector were also presented.
During the event, participants discussed the further development of international recommendations aimed at reducing doping risks and emphasized the importance of joint actions to protect clean sport and public health.
Valerii Zlomynoha stated: “Today, the fight against doping is a shared responsibility of the sporting community, the state, the medical sector, and international partners. Only by joining forces can we effectively combat the spread of prohibited substances and protect the values of clean sport.”
The NADC continues to support international dialogue and participate in initiatives aimed at developing an effective anti-doping system.
Clean sport — a shared responsibility.
