NADC Statistics: Anti-Doping Rule Violations by Sport
Within the NADC Statistics section, aggregated data on the anti-doping activities of the National Anti-Doping Center are published.
This edition focuses on the distribution of anti-doping rule violations by sport, as identified through testing results and investigations.
The highest number of violations has been recorded in:
- powerlifting, bodybuilding, and weightlifting — sports in which the use of prohibited substances is most frequently detected in an attempt to increase strength, muscle mass, or overall physical performance;
- canoeing, athletics, and skiing disciplines — sports where violations are commonly associated with efforts to enhance endurance or accelerate recovery.
Isolated cases of violations have also been identified in a range of other sports, including team sports, combat sports, and individual disciplines.

It is important to understand that no sport is immune to doping. Each violation represents not merely a statistical figure, but a real case with tangible consequences for the athlete — including disqualification, loss of results, reputational damage, and, in some instances, the end of a sporting career.
The NADC emphasizes that effective anti-doping prevention begins with education, informed decision-making, and the personal responsibility of every athlete, regardless of sport.
Clean sport is not only about numbers in reports.
It is about the decisions athletes make every day.
