Staying Ahead: NADC Prepares for the Implementation of the 2027 Code
Specialists from the National Anti-Doping Center participated in the 2026 Regional Symposium for Europe and Africa Webinar Series, organized by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The webinar series served as an alternative to the Regional Symposiums for Europe and Africa, which WADA announced were cancelled in April 2026 due to conflicts in the regions. This new format enabled representatives of anti-doping organizations, governments, and sports institutions to continue professional dialogue and prepare for the implementation of updated anti-doping rules.
Throughout the webinar series, participants reviewed the key changes to the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standards that will come into effect during the next Code cycle.
Particular attention was given to:
- athlete-centered changes aimed at protecting athletes’ rights and interests;
- ensuring the operational independence of National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs);
- compliance with the Code and International Standards;
- the new International Standard for Intelligence and Investigations;
- protection of personal data within the anti-doping system;
- procedures for obtaining Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs);
- athlete testing;
- anti-doping education;
- results management and the handling of potential anti-doping rule violations.
Participation in such events allows NADC to proactively prepare for the implementation of the new requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards while ensuring that Ukraine’s anti-doping system remains aligned with international best practices.
NADC continues to actively cooperate with WADA and the global anti-doping community to support the development of an effective, modern, and transparent system for protecting clean sport in Ukraine.
